Worked Great

"Strike plates worked great and solved my problem of my doors not closing after replacing door knobs."

— Keith F. (5/5)

Only works in one direction

"This is an interesting product designed primarily for the correction of a door strike plate that needs to move back away from the weatherstripping. It does not provide for any movement closer the weatherstripping that the original strike plate. I needed to have the door close an additional 3/32 of an inch to slightly compress the weatherstripping but more importantly I needed to prevent the secondary latch bolt from going into the strike plate and making the door knob hard to turn. Eventually, the secondary latch bolt would break off or get rough and chewed up. Bending the original strike plate adjustment tab did tighten the door but because the tab was angled the secondary bolt would still enter the strike plate. So I had to grind down parts of this unit to make a neat fit without drilling any new holes or removing any wood and still maintaining adjustability. Perhaps replacing the weatherstripping would have helped to prevent the secondary bolt from jamming. A complicating factor was that the door had sidelights and the jamb had developed a slight bow in it so that the latch plate was out too far to tighten to the weatherstripping. Most alignment problems are from the door sagging and the bolt being too low to fit into the strike plate and this product does not address that problem."
