The astronomical TIMER will turn on your lights at dusk and turn them off at dawn according to sun's position at your geographical location. This feature does not use the photocell to operate, meaning it can be installed and used indoor. To get the exact dusk time, a photocell is also included on the transformer (auto mode). the lights will turn on at dusk and close at dawn either using the auto feature (photocell - which operates according to the ambient light) or by using the internal astronomical timer.
